The RoadTripp Vet – Policies & Client Expectations
Professional Conduct
The RoadTripp Vet maintains a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior. Clients are expected to be kind, respectful, and professional at all times. In return, all care will be provided with professionalism, compassion, and integrity. Failure to meet these expectations may result in discontinuation of services.
Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR)
A valid Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) must be established prior to the prescribing or dispensing of any medications, as required by Massachusetts state law. This policy is non-negotiable.
Deposits, Scheduling & Cancellations
A deposit is required prior to booking the first appointment. Appointment times are reserved specifically for you, and availability is limited.
• Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will receive a full deposit refund.
• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Heartworm Testing & Prevention (Dogs)
Dogs must have a current heartworm test and be maintained on ongoing heartworm prevention. Heartworm prevention cannot be prescribed without up-to-date testing.
Medications & Pharmacy Policy
Medications are primarily recommended through The RoadTripp Vet’s online pharmacy, which offers competitive pricing and convenient home delivery.
• Medications may also be purchased directly through The RoadTripp Vet and picked up or delivered when available.
• Handwritten prescriptions can be provided upon request and will be mailed. Please note that the online pharmacy often offers pricing comparable to major retailers such as Chewy.
Laboratory Testing & Results
Laboratory results will be communicated as soon as they are available. Turnaround times may take up to one week, depending on laboratory processing and overall caseload.
Vaccination Policy
Rabies vaccination is required by Massachusetts state law for all healthy pets and is non-negotiable.
Communication & Response Times
• Once you are an active client, text messaging is the preferred method for urgent concerns.
• Brief follow-up questions and updates can be handled through the digital app and client portal.
• Longer or more detailed medical discussions may require a telemedicine consultation fee.
• Medical records and educational handouts will be emailed following visits.
Practice Structure & Availability
The RoadTripp Vet is a solo, independently operated practice. Please allow 1–7 days for responses. Patience and kindness are greatly appreciated. For urgent concerns, please reach out via text. If an emergency arises, clients should seek immediate emergency veterinary care.
